Trump is angrily demanding Powell lower interest rates, to be able to stimulus the economy but Powell cannot because it will trigger rising inflation. Trump vandalized the economy with failosophy of tariffs, trying to show his machismo in the face of delicate trade good will. Secondly, terms of trade are improved by innovation and productivity gains, not by strong arming customers. Trump tariffs are all wrong, like EVERY economist told him, second time around after first failure, but his arrogant obstinance is idiotic, or pathological of an illiterate non-reader.

WE NOW HAVE STAGFLATION, like the worst of the 1970's, with growth in the US at near zero and inflation resistant to high interest rates, unemployment rising.
