The relationship of Citizen to State is seen as a bundle of rights, obligations, expectations, duty roles and sanctions, as an unwritten social contract between Citizen and State. When there is no recognizable Social Contract, there is Warlordism and a relationship of master and slave between State and Citizen. The citizen in social contract is empowered with rights gives consent to be governed by representatives, the Citizen in warlordism is totally deferential or regimented and lives at the whim and arbitrary will of the warlord or Tyrant or his proxys.
