The spike in middle age suicides are people pessimistic of care or company in old age.

A majority of people who feel they will not be cared for in disability or in old age stop working, become long term unemployed or join criminal fraterniies…. The ones who don't, don't feel motivated to work hard or try to be productive, or become off grid welfare recipients.
